Remember this table......my little table I saved from the side of the road, in a previous post...
Well, this became the start of my Christmas tree assembly. I pulled out my decorations from the back room and found my lights. Lined the inside bottom with a piece of burlap and then the set of clear lights.....
(I broke the one hinge on the right)
Then closed it up.....Now came the tree.....I bought a cheap tree at the local thrift store for $20. 6ft, pr-lit all neatly crammed in a box! I figured this has to be some Charlie Brown tree....but to my surprise, it wasn't all that bad....just had to fill in the HOLES! Had to cover the base of the tree with something, it's ugly! I found an old lace table cloth and wrapped it around the base. I didn't want to block the lights from coming through. Set a few things around the base and topped it off with a little tinsel garland.
I started to decorate with all the Hydrangea flowers I picked and dried this summer. Glad I did! The flower heads were huge this year.
Next, I hung some bird ornaments........that's the theme for this tree....now it's starting to look pretty good with everything on it.
I also had taken all the pictures off the wall and hung my candle sconces I scored at a yard sale for next to nothing....they were an ugly tarnished bronze color. I had painted them white.
I'm lovin' it!
Looks great in the dark.......
Well, thats one down.....many more to go!
Who else has their trees started?

Looks so pretty~ I love the light coming up from the table, and all the pretty hydrangea, too!
Pretty! Some of my Christmas decor may have gotten out of the box too!
When our daughter was little, we would put up our tree(s) on Thanksgiving Day. It would keep the little one out from under Mom's feet while she was getting dinner ready. I've never been much of a football fan, so we would pop a Xmas video in and enjoy the lights. We still try to continue this tradition when we are home. This year we are visiting my daughter and her family, so the tree will go up after Thanksgiving. Your tree looks great!
WOW! This is genius! Now I'm going to be on the hunt for a table like this. What a stunning way to display and the tree is outstanding too! Thanks for linking up to my "Open House".
